Oct 2018 Selling and Buying a New Home!

This is going to be a long post! So much happened so quickly. We found a new house, sold our old one and had to do a lot of work to make this happen! Here we go!

We had talked a little about wanting a bigger place. However, the inventory in Boulder is so low, and prices are so high, we didn't think anything would come on the market in a year or so. So we decided to refinish our back deck so we could enjoy it a while. To our surprise, we found the perfect house almost immediately, put in an offer which was accepted, so got ours on the market immediately.
I think we surprised many people because they didn't know we were even considering.

The good news is, our deck was refinished and it was spectacular! Seriously. We are so happy we did it (after all the physical pain that came with doing it went away).
And we did get to enjoy it for a month or so.
I think we both never want a wood deck again because it was a lot of work - but worth it!

Here is Dave and Dayle enjoying the newly finished deck while we could.
We spent a bit of time out of the house while people looked at it. It was shown a few days. This group returned a few times and bought it.

They are downsizing and love the house. We are thrilled they got it because it is a great house. It's just smaller than they want. They are downsizing so it's perfect for them.
In short order, we had this!

We went back to the house to make sure it was clean and I grabbed some nice photos of it.
Although we are thrilled to be in the new place, it was bittersweet, and there were some tears shed when we left it the last time.
And in no time, there was this! We only moved 8 miles, but it was hard. We did some moving ourselves with this Uhaul. We also had the pros come in the next day to move the bulk of the house.

The next few posts will focus on the move and not be in perfect chronological order. It seems appropriate given that is how moving feels!
