04_30 to 05_02_2014...A couple of days in Zion UT

A view of Shune's Buttress on the left margin of Red Arch Mtn in Zion. If you look closely you will see two climbers on the left hand skyline climbing one of the best routes in Zion in my opinion.
A bit wider shot of the same area.
A bit tighter of the area with the Shune's Buttress pillar right of center.
A view of the upper Zion Canyon from the west Rim Trail just before taking the spur trail to the top of Angel's Landing.
The view south from the summit of Angel's Landing looking down Zion Canyon. Someone spent a lot of time building rock cairns on this small summit plateau.
A close up of a few rock cairns with the Great White Throne in the background.
Rock cairn, Great White Throne, selfie.
Some cool ridges near the summit of Angel's Landing.
Some hardy yet beautiful flowers clinging to the navajo sandstone of Angel's Landing.
A close-up, long-exposure shot of the Virgin River near the Three Patriarchs.
My campsite for the night.
View of Angel's Landing from low down on the Observation Point Trail - one of the great day-hikes in Zion.
Higher up on the Observation Point Trail looking down at some of the switch-backs.
Almost to the rim on the Observation Point Trail. Amazing views!
View of Angel's Landing and its long summit ridge from Observation Point.
Observation Point selfie!
A closer view of Angel's Landing summit ridge. Several people can be seen if you look closely.
A view of Cable Mountain. Way back when, they used to send timber down from the rim all the way to the valley floor via a two-way cable system. Crazy!
And finally, the view from my second camp spot in Zion.

Really good  birds here in the campground.

Next stop...home!
