06_26_2012 Houston Visit

I headed to Houston recently to attend my 30th high school reunion and visit my family. For the first time ever, the weather in Houston was far nicer than it was in Boulder. Boulder had been enduring day after day of 100+ degree with less than 10% humidity days. Brutal. Really brutal. Houston was at 100+ in temperature, but their humidity was a nice 49%. My eyeballs which had been turning to raisins in Boulder were happy to be in the humidity.

Whatever the weather in Houston, it was perfect for Dad's lime tree. It is growing mutant limes! Look at the size of those things!

No photos of the reunion, but suffice it to say it was fun seeing people. I am mostly surprised at how many names and faces didn't ring a bell. My bell is old and not retaining anything any longer it seems. Doh.

At mom's we did the usual goofing off and playing with baby birds. :) Perfect activities. We got two baby ducks, two baby geese, two baby chicken and two baby guineas. We spent time watching the ducks and geese play in the bathtub. Endlessly fun entertainment!
This is what a baby goose looks like. These guys will grow up to look like Stalker did. Hope they are as sweet.
Mom can't hide her preference for the baby geese. They are precious.
Spent some time with my siblings and their animals too. This is Jack. He's a bundle of energy. Haha! Good looking retired greyhound for sure.
As is the norm, the peafowl were cruising around mom and dad's house doing their peafowl thing. This male was especially enamored with my parent's truck. Better than the side of the house which another courted for days during my last trip.
Hannah and Zoe were around a fair amount to help with hair brushing, swimming and duck/geese swimming.
Good times!
