Southern Arizona Birding Part 3

A cool photo of a Common Yellowthroat at the Riparian area (that place is awesome!). There were more Common Yellowthroats than we've ever seen!

A tasty bug morsel for the baby Hummingbirds in the nest!

A female Hummingbird on her nest. Can't remember what kind she is. IDing females is tough for me!

A Hummingbird. Can't ID this female though.

Look at this pretty  Broad-Billed Hummingbird female on a nest. Note the spider web in the nest construction. This makes the nest expandable so it enlarges as the babies grow.

A big treat of the trip was seeing the rare Mexican Spotted Owl. We'd looked for him last year, but didn't find him. Happily this year we found him snoozing in a tree.

Another shot of the Mexican Spotted Owl.

 Cassin's Kingbird. Feisty little birds!

A Yellow Breasted Chat on the ground. He offered some nice photo opportunities.

A handsome White-Crowned Sparrow. Striking birds.
