01_06_10 Hawaii for a honeymoon!

Hawai'i!!

Finally, we got the time to enjoy a real honeymoon in Hawaii. We flew to Maui where we stayed just a bit north of Kaanapali on the west portion of the island. It was a great area to be in - near enough to stuff, but just outside the densely tourist-populated area.

The weather was beautiful (though a bit cooler than expected). The surf was pounding - in face, we were under high surf warning the entire time we were there except for the last day when it turned to it's normal winter glass-like nature.

The trip proved to be an excellent way to make great progress in the foot-healing department as well. I arrived there via wheel-chair in the airports and left walking in my own tennis shoes! Walking slow, walking with a small limp, but walking! Very cool!

As some would say, we really 'did' Maui. We saw almost everything there is to offer there. Banyan tree, animals, birds, road riding (Dave only), boogie boarding (no surfing - it was deadly!), etc.

In this blog entry I've included some general scenery photos. The following blog entries will follow some photos based on some of the themes of the trip.

I can't help it given the material - there are a LOT of photos - Enjoy!
