03_19 to 27_2014 - Callie and Daves Big Adventure - the Birding Continues at the LA Arboretum

Our final birding stop on this portion of the trip was the LA Arboretum.  We met up with some climbing friends for the day. It was fun as anticipated!

First bird - White-Crowned Sparrow
Beautiful Male Audubon Yellow-Rumped Warbler!
Western Scrub Jay portrait
Rufous Hummingbird
Female Peafowl in a field of Yellow Poppies!
Handsome Red-Whiskered Bulbul
Gorgeous portrait of a male House Finch.

We saw no Amazon parrots on this trip sadly.
Another beautiful Red-Whiskered Bulbul
Northern Mockingbirds. These birds seem to sing (nonstop) "Take a photo of me! Take a photo of me!"
Slightly different, and equally pretty pose of the female peafowl in the poppies!
Northern Mockingbird
Hummingbird - Allen's or Rufous. We saw several of both this day.

Looks like you folks had a good time at the Arboretum! Fine shots of the Red-whiskered Bulbul in particular, Dave. Hope to see you folks sometime this year, somewhere! :o) -- Best Wishes, Steve
