07_23_to_31_2014 We go to Tensleep WY! - Part I

We had intended to grab the fifth wheel and head to the Sierra for 2-3 weeks. I would fly home and Dave would stay behind.  But we changed those plans...too much going on. I needed to be back to work. What if we took the cat out there and she relapsed? What if Dave needed to fly back east to take care of stuff? Too many things just a wee bit in the  air so we ditched the Sierra plans and decided to take the fifth wheel to Tensleep WY.

It is fun taking the beast out. And anyone who hasn't been to Little America with a trailer - you are missing out!  They are designed soooo well!
Dave got so psyched that he got a new Little America baseball cap. It is complete - it has a penguin on it. :)
We arrived at a nice campsite in the Boulder Campground. Dave had scoped out which were ideal for the pop up and which were ideal for the fifth wheel. We got a great site.

It came complete with eager little squirrels and tiny chipmunks.
Pente enjoyed the ride though she was still about 70-80% healthy. She was still sleeping a lot and stayed under the covers all night with us each night. That is not her style. Still, she was eating and her systems were moving. All we could do is keep an eye on her. She found all the best sunny spots in the trailer. She LOVES the trailer.
We set up camp complete with four bird feeders.  The next morning we were up and out the door to climb.

Michelle, Bob, Chad and Grant were at the campground three down from us. Good to see them there!
Ready to go!
We hiked from the campground to the wall for the first day. We spent time around the French Cattle Ranch.

Mr silly.
Sport climbing!
The first day may have been the best day of climbing. We warmed up on a couple of 9s, then some 10s and several 11s. Great climbs and great fun.
Shoeing up...
Up, up and away
Fun climbing with sharp little edges. My favorite. :)
We stopped by the Bob/Michelle/Grant/Chad camp on the way back.
Dave and the cat were both nearly healthy. Both slept more than usual.
Hanging at the campground

One evening we all piled in the car and headed into Tensleep. Grant and Chad were heading home the next day so they wanted to get some pizza to celebrate a fun trip. It was tight in the back but happily we're generally small folks.

To be continued...
