Here is another nice shot of the Green-Winged Teal at Alamosa. There were several of these, some Blue-Winged Teals and many Cinnamon Ducks.
This is a fine photo! A singing Marsh Wren. Such beautiful song and fun personalities for such tiny little birds.
Lots of silly Yellow-Headed Blackbirds. Last year we saw only a few. This year, we were treated to many of them.
Lots of fun was to be had by watching all the Yellow-Headed Blackbirds. in the evening, they all went nuts with their mating displays. It was noisy and funny. Many sat in the road displaying unconcerned that a several ton vehicle needed to go by. Testosterone poisoning at its finest. :)
Here is another shot of a Marsh Wren. These were Dave's favorite bird of the trip.
Okay, while not on the trip, this beauty deserves some recognition. Look outside our dining room and they are always there - American Goldfinch. These and the Lesser Goldfinch are mainstays out back. This year, another player has shown up:
The Pine Siskin. Tons of them. Often I can look out back and count 20 at the feeders at a time. They are small and feisty and have no problem chasing the larger birds away.
