Again this year, some Black-Capped Chickadees took up residence in the decorative nest next to the front door. Lots of 'real' bird house all over our property, but these guys like this nest. That's okay with us. Last year they fledged four chicks.We were happy to see the Chickadees moved in again. Pretty soon we saw nest building, then egg sitting, and finally little grubs and bugs being delivered. We knew there were three in the nest - and finally today, I was able to count four.
I even managed to snap a photo of one of them as he was peeking out. They look like little Chickadees now with their eyes open and feathers coming in. They are preening furiously in their nest. They should be leaving within the next few days. Good luck little guys!
