09_2016 New Pet Orchids

I somehow became enamored with Orchids this year. What started as one, grew to 10 or 15. 

I find them fun and very challenging. Pretty much everything you ever learned about caring for plants does NOT apply to these plants!

While I initially over-watered them all, I finally have figured it out. I am even getting my own blooms coming in!

So far, I've only killed two (tragic). 

I find seeing a new bloom coming in as exciting ass seeing a new root come in.

They much prefer the front room.

This is a favorite - a fragrant orchid. It shot up about 4 big blooms a bit after this photo was taken.
