It's a long drive. Nature calls. That should explain this fine photo that is the source of great pride and a new important learned skill. :)
There are some snow patches at higher elevations that allowed the girls to play in the snow in flip flops and shorts.
Snowball fight!
Above tree line - the drive went on and one. Mom had passed out here from sheer fear. Something about cliffs and speed.
Feels like being at the top of the world here. Very gorgeous.
We went over the top (12, 183') and descended a bit to the visitor center. There some piles of snow were around.
Looking down from the visitor center. Not shown in this photo is a HUGE herd of Elk. There must have 50 of them. Never seen so many.
You can see the visitor center is at 11,796'.
Heading back down.
A solo elk we got to see.
The photos fail to capture the height, drop offs and amazing views.
So, we have a little wind out here. The trees demonstrate the direction from which the wind originates.
There was a little sleeping in the car. And comas were had all around at the end of the day.
