The insulation company showed up at 7am bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. I got the birds out of the house and into the pop-up where we'd spend most of the day.
The workers first built little "casitas" around work areas to try and contain the mess. They did a pretty darn good job of that.
Then they sprayed away. The foam grows after it has been sprayed. This means an additional step it that they take what looks like an enormous turkey carving knife and gut the foam that extends past the studs off. There were several big bags of excess foam bagged and hauled away.
Seems to me that static is the enemy. The little pieces of foam are stuck all over the place - on walls not even associated with getting foam. And with the wind (all windows are open for airing of fumes) makes a light snow fall throughout the house. It's going to be a little bit messy until Monday when all the sheetrock goes up.
The birds were really great in the camper. To my surprise, Clover was the most stressed. She came out for a little while to the great frustration of Gabbie who continues to be madly in love, or hate, with her. It is hard to tell. What is clear is Clover wants nothing to do with him. He was going bonkers as Clover stood on top of Gabbie's pet taxi.
Pretty cool equipment and progress. I look forward to seeing the sheetrock up. And the floating/taping/texturing done. That means we can do one final (I hope) major cleaning and perhaps the house can start coming together.
I have travel coming up soon. I hate that I'll miss a lot of the progress.
